Description

Vietnam’s domestic electronics industry can only produce about 30 to 40 percent of the devices sought by the country’s growing middle-class customer base. At the same time, protective retailers are hindering low-cost distribution by limiting the number of stores a non-Vietnamese firm can run. Vietnam intends to complete its transition to a market economy over five years, according to U.S. Commerce Department analyses. Yet, rampant inflation has had an impact on the economic conversion.
